This breakthrough for animals in factory farms follows intensive consumer awareness campaigning by Animals Australia, the efforts of colleague groups, and strategic investigations by Tasmanian member society Brightside Farm Sanctuary. Importantly, Tasmania’s decision will add pressure on other states to follow suit.

Mother Bear Kills Own Cub Then Commits Suicide
Bear bile farming. It is something many of us have forgotten about. We don’t read about it in the newspapers, it’s not featured on T.V. So naturally, we lead ourselves to believe it doesn’t happen anymore. But it is alive and well.
A heart-breaking true story about a desperate mother has been released. The mother bear and her cub were destined for a life of pain and suffering in a bear bile farm, where bile is extracted without anesthesia and cages are so small the occupants cannot even turn around.
It is what this mother bear did for her cub that shocked the bile farmers and even made Chinese news.
